ELL Multiculturalism Trip
TRIP DATES: September 11 - 13, 2025
TEACHER CHAPERONES: Carol Adamson and other chaperones TBD
TRIP DETAILS:
The ELL multiculturalism trip to Vancouver is a trip for our new cohort of ELL students as well as some of our returning ELL students. This weekend will be jam-packed with opportunities for students to practice their conversational English skills, tour around some cultural sites in Vancouver and eat delicious food. The trip includes 2 nights billeting at the Radisson Vancouver Airport hotel and we have lots of activities planned including a visit to the Museum of Anthropology at UBC, Dr. Sun Yat Sen Chinese Garden, and a virtual experience with Fly Over Canada. Students will only be in charge of paying for the meals, otherwise all costs are covered by the school. Below is an overview of what we have planned for each day (though some details are subject to change).
Day One:
Depart SMUS at 3:00 PM for the 5:00 PM ferry to Vancouver.
Arrive at the hotel in Richmond and visit the Richmond Night Market for dinner.
Day Two:
Depart the hotel at 9:00 AM for a full day in downtown Vancouver.
Activities include FlyOver Canada, a visit to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, lunch, and afternoon shopping.
Day Three:
Depart the hotel at 8:30 AM for UBC to visit the Museum of Anthropology.
Travel from UBC to the ferry for the return trip to Victoria.
